Upsetting Loss Ends the 2006 Campaign
September 17, 2006
BURLINGTON,
MA> Several days after the season-ending loss to the Black Sox, Dog Pound
players and fans finally feel comfortable enough to speak out about the horrid
performance put forth on Tuesday September 12, 2006. "Yeah when I arrived they
were cruising along, yet I knew it was too good to be true. They were up 5-0, I
take a sip of Vodka and next thing I know their down 7-5. Thee years in
C-League. Supa-lata Losers." said Paul Shvartsman after the game who found
amusement in the Dog Pound's misfortunes. The Pound was up 5-0 going into the
bottom of the sixth inning. Riley was pitching a shut-out and then out of
nowhere the Black Sox bats awoke, scoring 7 runs in the bottom half of the sixth
to take the lead for good. "We had our chance, yet we bleeeew it" said Luke
Lemelin in response to every question asked by the media after the game.
Well the off-season begins now for the Dog Pound. There are several issues faced for the Dog Pound in this off-season to include the head-coaching position, the 2007 roster, the 2006 MVP award, and position adjustments. Dog Pound insiders strongly believe that the Dan Doherty era has come to an end. At this time, possible replacements include Bill Tammaro, Luke Lemelin, Paul Shvartsman, Chuck Doherty, and Bryan Riley. "The thought of coaching the Pound again has crossed my mind. That is it though. I'm not committing to anything at this time" said Bryan Riley to a slew of reporters at the Concord River in Bedford, MA where Riley spends a lot of time fishing to get away from the constant array of media, fans, and paparazzi. As far as the 2007 roster, the new coach will be tasked with building a championship and everyone's job is in jeopardy. The 2006 MVP award will be named soon and the front-runners include Luke Lemelin, Chris Doherty, Matt Gillis, and Chuck Doherty.
