DOGPOUNDSOFTBALL.COM SPECIAL REPORT

The Dog Pound stands in third place in the Burlington "B" league but how have the individual contributors fared? Lets take a look:

BRYAN RILEY      A

With the added weight from his son, Will, B. Riley has produced not only on the mound but at the plate too. Halfway through the season he leads the team in average and is 6-2 on the mound. The only really challenge remaining for him is proving that he can do it for the whole year.

CHUCK DOHERTY    A

Nothing fancy here, but there doesn't need to be. He has always hit the ball well but this year the ball is finding the holes.

MATT GILLIS      A

Solid producer with the bat. Dog Pound fans fear that he will miss the stretch run in favor of romantic walks with the wife.

CHRIS DOHERTY     A

Mr. reliable - continuing to put up good numbers at the plate for the third consecutive season.

IAN RACE     A

Ian was off to the races by swinging a hot bat. Lock for rookie of the year award. Looking good at the dish with a 9 hits in his first 20 career at bats.

DAN SCHULER     A

The youngster continues to get better with each game. Should be given the opportunity to play the field.

LUKE LEMELIN     A

After pre-season trade requests the champ seems happy again as a Dog Pounder. Early season woes at SS but has shown improvement recently. Will compete for the batting title.

DAN DOHERTY   A

Has the 2005 season gotten us to expect too much? After a tough start at the dish, his hitting has improved.

MATT LEARY     A

Who? great glove; May average a career low of 6 games.

BILL TAMMARO       A

After 8 season in the league, he looks like he's ready for retirement. Average down, errors up.

JASON GUIDI     A

Played great the game before the all-star break. Looking to regain 2005 form in the 2nd half.

JOHN BRESLIN      A

Playing well at 3B but has questionable managerial skills added with struggles at the plate. Has owed 5+ traditional 30 packs in the first 11 games. Did the win on Tuesday save his job as manager?
