2008 MVP and Gold Glove Winners Named

BURLINGTON, MA - Matt Leary's magical and unprecedented season finally ends with the proper recognition he deserves. 2008 marked the first time that Matt Leary appeared in double digit games and he made the most out of every game. His season was highlighted by many first time feats to include:

• Highest single season batting average at .603 (destroyed the previous record of .548)
• Highest single season on-base percentage at .636
• Tied the single season record for singles at 30
• Had a hit every game in 2008 and lengthened his record hitting streak to 38 games
• Had the longest multiple hit game streak at 8 consecutive games
• Tied the runs scored in a game record twice (no one else did it all season)
• Tied the most doubles in a game record (record stood alone since 2006)
• Had 4 hits in a game three times (it only happened 3 other times all season)

Matt really set the bar high for all Dog Pound players. Even more impressive is that he not only excelled with the bat, he also excelled with glove in being awarded the Gold Glove winner for the second time in three years.
