Dog Pound Loses On Opening Day Again

May 3, 2008

BURLINGTON, MA - After last nights disappointing 10-7 loss to the Sweathogs, the Dog Pound all-time record on opening day now stands at 0 wins and 4 losses. "It hurts, you always want to get out of the gates quick, however we never do that. We failed to capitalize with runners in scoring position and we also made some horrible base running errors. If we did better in these two areas, the game probably would have ended differently" said a very upset Coach Riley to a swarm of reporters outside his Tyngsboro home.

Last night did however showcase highly-touted rookie Phil Luongo who played well with an RBI and a 2-3 performance. "I'm happy things went well for me tonight. I was so nervous throughout the day leading up to the game.  I actually threw up twice in my car during the drive to the field. There are some great veterans on this team who have given me some much needed guidance throughout the preseason" said Phil during the post game press conference.

Overall the game went well. Several guys looked very good out there. The Pound looks forward to rebound next game as they host the Weekend Warriors scheduled on Tuesday, May 6 at 6:30 PM. The Dog pound hopes to finish strong during their opening 4 game home stand.
