Four Straight Wins For The Dog Pound
July 19, 2006
BURLINGTON, MA> Can you say hot? The Pound seems to have finally reached their potential. Tonight marked their fourth straight win, a first ever streak for the Dog Pound. "Everything just seems to be clicking. We are getting clutch hits and slumping players are stepping up. It's great to start 2-0 during this four game road trip", said assistant coach Jason Guidi.
Substitute player Paul "The Communist" Shvartsman was named
the MVP for the game batting out of the ten hole. He went 4 for 4 in the victory.
"Whatever, this interview is wicked gay." said Paul to a reporter after the
game. The bottom three in the lineup really stepped up tonight for the Dog Pound
going 9 for 12. "You can't even dream of that type of production out of the
bottom three in the line-up" said head coach Dan Doherty. The 4th and 5th
hitters however sucked ass. They were combined 1 for 10.
In a game in which the first 8 batters were retired in order, the dormant Dog Pound bats quickly awoken in the second half of the game. The Pound scored all 19 runs in the last 4 innings. "Team Havoc's pitcher was tough the first time around the order, yet we made our adjustments during our second appearance" said John "Pale Skin" Breslin.
The victory secured a second place standing in the infamous Burlington C League. Can the Pound keep up this hot streak? Find out this Friday where the Pound will face Team FIDO for the first time at Mitre Field. The Pound has never lost at Mitre Field. The stars seem to be aligned for the red hot Dog Pound.
