Dog Pound Bats Awaken in Big Victory Over the Sweathogs
May 28, 2008
BURLINGTON,
MA - With tensions rising among the Dog Pound, a big victory over the Sweathogs
was necessary. "Prior to the game, tempers and emotions were flaring between
Jason Guidi and head coach Bryan Riley. It was similar to the classic Reggie
Jackson and Billy Martin confrontations" said a local reporter. Guidi and Riley
both refused to comment on the alleged confrontation.
Since the Pound's pathetic performance against Something Fierce in which they were shutout with only three hits, the Dog Pound bats have come alive with 20 hits in each game since. Chris Doherty has lead the charge with a record breaking performance in which he hit safely in 7 consecutive at bats. Chris will try to build on that record Monday.
Billy Tammaro also started on the mound for the first time of the year. Although he struggled against one hitter who hit a remarkable 4 homeruns off the BillT, he kept the remainder of the team in check. Billy's highlight was his strikeout in which he pumped his arm in celebration of his feat.
The Dog Pound now seems to be playing to their full potential. They are even a 3 run favorite against Blaze on Monday night.
