Dan Doherty Has An Eye On A Bigger Prize
February 15, 2007
WALTHAM,
MA>An undisclosed Pound insider told reporters today that Dan Doherty is
stepping down as Dog Pound skipper to seek employment as the first ever Dog
Pound General Manager. "Dan is taking his sweet time announcing the new coach.
Some believe he is actually reviewing all roster moves prior to his appointment.
Dan is micromanaging the roster before he passes down the throne." said the
insider.
Dan is leaving the Softball operations to the new coach, yet all roster transactions must go through his office for approval. This sounds like a General Manager to me. "Who made Dan god? Can he simply promote himself?" asked numerous callers on WEEI this morning.
"Dan has always seeked power. As soon as he took over the coaching position, he immediately changed the uniforms and put his logo all over the uniform. Where will it stop? Even batting orders and positioning will be reviewed by Dan in the upcoming season. He just doesn't want to do the dirty work, only make decisions." said the undisclosed insider this morning.
Dan even basically picked the new coach. He sent out his propaganda via email to other players to persuade them to vote for "his" coach.
To protect the safety of the Dog Pound insider, his name will be left anonymous. Simply speaking out like this could jeopardize the career, family, and life of this undisclosed insider.
