Dog Pound Dominated By Master Batters
July 15, 2007
BURLINGTON, MA - Most fans and players alike came into Friday Night's contest full of confidence and joy. "After our solid performance on Tuesday, I thought we were going to go on a roll. During that game we made the big plays when we had to. Tonight we just sucked. " said an angry Bryan Riley to a slew of media after the game.
The
Dog Pound did obviously miss their most consistent bat in Matt Gillis and their
most consistent glove in Matt Leary Friday night. Both players left for Bermuda
for Leary's wedding. We expect Leary to make way more games going forward as he
will want any excuse to go out and get away from the wife. Gillis on the
other hand, nags his wife to go on picnics instead of playing softball.
The other big event Friday night was the fireworks display put on by the Sweathogs. "Way to work it" replied Luke Lemelin at least 20 times following the police arrival. While the fireworks were going off, Burlington's finest arrived and made everyone leave the Nokia parking lot. "No cool points" said an angry Bryan Riley after being notified we all had to leave.
In other news, Luke Lemelin is fastly approaching a milestone, 100 career hits. He currently sits with 98 career hits. Can he do it this Tuesday, only time will tell?
