ATLANTA, GA - Fantasy owners across the nation are furious with the production of many of the Dog Pound players. Below you will find some Fantasy analysis on players through the half way mark of the season.
| JOHN BRESLIN 3B | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .323 | .355 | 11 | 8 | 68% | 25% | + 4.5% | 7 OF 10 |
John has been incredibly too inconsistent this season for most Fantasy Owners likings. He was drafted high in many leagues based on his strong finish to the 2007 season. He has been playing better of late, I would consider starting him only in deep leagues. Keep on the reserve bust don't drop him just yet.
| CHRIS DOHERTY OF | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .567 | .767 | 13 | 9 | 100% | 100% | 0.0% | 5 OF 35 |
Chris Doherty owners are overly joyed this season with his production. He was viewed as a high #2 outfielder in the preseason yet now he is a must start in all leagues. Last season's knee injury dropped him in most leagues to a 4th or 5th round pick. If you drafted him in the 5th round, what a steal.
| CHUCK DOHERTY OF | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .281 | .375 | 4 | 8 | 82% | 21% | - 9.2% | 28 OF 35 |
Chuck Doherty has arguably been the biggest Fantasy bust this season so far. His numbers over the past three seasons have increased significantly and this season, most expected even bigger numbers. Chuck is slumping big time and should be reserved in all leagues. You may want to hold on to him if you are in a keeper league because he is just having a bad year. Don't expect this next season.
| DAN DOHERTY OF | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .481 | .667 | 9 | 13 | 100% | 98% | + 0.5% | 8 OF 35 |
Dan Doherty is giving Fantasy owners just what they expected. He should be started in all leagues. Fantasy owners have been complaining over his lack of power numbers throughout his career and it looks as if the complaints will continue.
| JASON GUIDI 2B | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .360 | .480 | 6 | 5 | 76% | 42% | + 5.7% | 7 OF 10 |
Guidi was only drafted in 29% of all drafts in the preseason, yet he has been picked up in most leagues. The off-season rumors to bat lefty scared away many owners, however he has proven to hit more extra base hits from the left side which has shown some interest in owners. Guidi should only be started in deeper leagues.
| MATT LEARY 1B | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .500 | .538 | 2 | 11 | 100% | 98% | 0.0% | 2 OF 10 |
Leary has been a pleasant surprise for many owners. Most knew he could play however he was too risky based on his limited games played. This year he's batting lead off and is playing in more games than ever before. He is a must start in all leagues.
| LUKE LEMELIN SS | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .367 | .667 | 7 | 8 | 99% | 77% | + 3.2% | 4 OF 10 |
For the few owners, who have dropped Luke early on, you may want to pick him up if he is still available. He was drafted in the first round in nearly every draft this season, yet he struggled bad early, and caused several owners to give up on their season. H's seems to be back to the first round pick you expected and should be started in most leagues. An ideal flex player for leagues allowing such.
| PHIL LUONGO C | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .367 | .467 | 8 | 8 | 35% | 11% | + 15.2% | 8 OF 10 |
Luongo was undrafted in most leagues because he was virtually unknown. Over the past two weeks owners are adding him to their roster at a record pace. Consider adding him to your roster to fill a weak performer. He should be reserved this week, yet he may be worth taking a risk if your in the gambling mood.
| IAN RACE OF | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .520 | .560 | 5 | 8 | 100% | 97% | + 1.3% | 10 OF 35 |
Race is playing well and this shouldn't be a surprise to any fantasy owners. He is a model of consistency. Fantasy owners would like to see a few more extra base hits, yet they can't complain much more. Ian is a must start in all leagues.
| BRYAN RILEY P | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .333 | .433 | 6 | 2 | 83% | 46% | - 5.8% | 8 OF 10 |
Riley is underperforming this year. His lack of run production and hits have driven many owners to pull out their hair. Some believe his back injury is affecting his performance with the bat. He should be reserved in all leagues, possibly use him as a flex player in deeper leagues.
| DAN SCHULER OF | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .276 | .345 | 8 | 5 | 70% | 37% | - 6.8% | 29 OF 35 |
Dan Schuler has been a huge disappointment so far. Last season he was a must start in all leagues during the second half of the season. Most owners are hoping he finds his late season swing again this year. He should be reserved in all leagues, possibly use him as a flex player in deeper leagues.
| BILL TAMMARO OF | BA | SLUGGING | RBI | RUNS | % OWNED | START % | ADD / DROP | POS. RANK |
| .143 | .143 | 2 | 4 | 31% | 0.0 % | - 34.3% | 35 OF 35 |
Bill Tammaro has been the biggest bust this year by far. Owners are actually happy he is currently injured because it has made the decision to drop him much easier. Tammaro should be dropped in all leagues, yet continue to track his injury because he has proven to be a fantasy superstar when his bat is working.
