The Dog Pound Were The Master Batters Tonight
July 11, 2006
BURLINGTON, MA>All day severe thunderstorms smashed around
Marvin Field. Another rain out seemed destined, yet the clouds broke just prior
to the game and so did the hopes of the Master Batters. The Pound
dominated
this game and won their third straight game 11-3 tonight. A huge fifth inning in
which 5 runs were scored on 8 hits put the game out of reach for the Master
Batters. "Yeah the 5th was great. We got EEEEEIIIIGGGHHHT hits. We put the token
in the merry go round and were like what's up dude", said Luke Lemelin after the
game.
All ten members of the Dog Pound got a hit. This is the first time all year that all players in the game got a hit. The Pound also had a streak of 6 straight hits, a remarkable first for the Dog pound. "I was very pleased with the team tonight, especially the performance of the Pound's struggling players. Chuck Doherty who came in batting .250 had three hits and so did Bryan Riley who came in batting .200. We need these guys to step up like they did tonight in order to make the play-offs", said skipper Dan Doherty.
In other news, Chuck Doherty owes 30 pack for second
straight game. He is on pace to break Brian Curtain and
Derek Bates single season 30 pack owed record. He is just one away from breaking
it. "I'm getting fucked. Not only do I owe my second straight 30 pack, yet I
also owe the damn ump fee. Fuck me in the goat ass", said Chuck Doherty this
evening.
The Dog Pound's solid play over the past three games isn't going unnoticed. Several local beat writers believe that the Pound may have the tools to go far in the playoffs. Come see the Pound July 19th against Team Havoc and see if they can make it four straight.
