Opening Day; I Guid-not

April 23, 2006

NEWTON, MA>All year long, Jason has been waiting for Sunday, April 23.  This would be the day the Dog Pound would open their regular season schedule.  Jason woke up and had that Christmas Morning feeling running through his veins.  He hopped out of bed and looked out the window.  He almost sprouted wood when he looked out and saw that it was not raining.  Just as Jason was oiling his glove, and putting black paint under both eyes he heard the phone ring.  He knew it right away.  He checked the caller ID and saw that it was Coach Doherty.  His heart sank and a tear came to his eye.  He answered the phone hesitantly and asked how bad the news was.  Coach Dan broke the second basemen’s heart with three words.  “It’s rained out”.  Jason hung up and called Chris Doherty for consoling.  Chris tried to tell him that it will be fun to open on a Friday, but Jason hung up and went back to the daily grind of doing chores claiming that the rain ruins his life.
