Dog Pound Player News and Notes
July 1, 2006
BURLINGTON,MA>
Yesterday's 12-2 win against the Ligers marked the first slaughter rule win for
the Dog Pound in quite some time. "They just played solid ball in all aspects of
the game. It was great to witness the Pound's performance tonight. It was like a
well oiled machine" said long time Dog Pound fan Dominic.
Last night's performance also marked career hit number 50 for CHRIS DOHERTY. "It's a huge milestone for me. I'm happy to get it behind me so I can now focus on the game and stop worrying about #50", said CHRIS DOHERTY to local media.
In other news, BRYAN RILEY is scheduled to meet with the Burlington Recreation Department Violation's Committee (BRDVC) Thursday morning to discuss disciplinary actions for his base running violation. "He was running to second base like he was trying to flag down a taxi cab. It was similar to the Alex Rodriguez incident in the 2004 ALCS series. There is no need for this in softball. I hope they fine him $2000.00 and lock him up", said a very upset DAN DEPIANO in reference to the incident. BRYAN RILEY refused to comment on the incident after the game.
The 2006 Dog Pound is way below their 2005 numbers. The 2005 squad finished with a .411 batting average while to this point the 2006 squad is only batting .374. "These numbers are alarming, yet I'm sure the bats will come around soon.", said Head Coach DAN DOHERTY on WEEI this morning. "Obviously are numbers are down, it rains every mother-fucking day. How can we get in a...oh forget about it. Fuck you." said JASON GUIDI to Harold Reynolds on ESPN. "The fact that Riley sucks has played a huge factor in the team batting average. His average has dropped a horrid 239 points. Pathetic! Get your head out of your ass or I'm leaving you." said his wife Jennifer Riley.
It was a big win for the mighty Dog Pound. Let's hope they can now string several together. They will battle the Black Sox this Friday night. The Black Sox have defeated the Pound twice this year each time by one run. It should be quite a game. Tickets are still available yet going fast.
