Bryan Riley Officially Declares His Candidacy

January 17, 2008

BOSTON, MA - Well it's that time again. The Dog Pound season is approaching and the new head coaching election has officially begun. Many Dog Pound fanatics remember the chaos of last season, and this season looks no different. To relive the 2007 election, www.dogpoundsoftball.com will provide some archived stories to relive the moment:

It looks like a two man raise at this time between last season's skipper John Breslin and 2005 Skipper Bryan Riley. If you compare the two on wins and losses, Riley wins all the way. On other issues, they differ significantly. Riley strongly opposes the 30 Pack Cap Rule where Breslin would prefer adding 30 pack fees into team fees. Riley takes a more conservative approach to defense and line-ups where Breslin likes to shake things up.

They both offer significant leadership experience.  Breslin has teaching experience while Riley has military leadership experience. Most recently, Riley has lead his candlepin bowling team to a first place finish during the first half. "Bryan is a master at the art leadership. I joined his team hoping to just have fun, yet now I find the most enjoyment in defeating every candlepin bowling team that dares to enter my alley" said bowling team mate Mellissa Paradise to a crowd of Riley supporters.

There is much needed work to be done prior to the season including roster moves, fees, practice, and off-season physicals performed by Nurse Billy. "Now that I finally graduated nursing school, it is imperative that I do a thorough physical on each player. I plan to focus primarily on hernia tests during the physical. I am currently scheduling physicals throughout the month. All I ask is that players leave their cough drops at home" said Nurse Billy to the two Head Coach hopefulls.

With all this work to be done, the new coach should be named soon. Keep posted for official voting information which should be announced soon.
