Dog Pound B League Bound

April 7, 2007

BURLINGTON, MA - On Tuesday April 3, 2007 at the Burlington Softball meeting, Dog Pound executives were notified that the Dog Pound was being promoted to the B League. After two consecutive wining seasons with play-off births the Dog Pound was well deserved of the promotion. "We will have to step up our game if we want to be competitive. I've played in B league ball for several seasons and I can say with confidence that it is a whole new ball game. We will play against experienced ball teams. I feel obligated to exhibit stronger leadership to the younger players who have only played in C league competition." said Bill Tammaro during an interview with Jim Rome.

The Dog Pound completed their second practice of the year today with significant improvements shown. "It was the best practice ever held" said Luke Lemelin several times at Chili's after the practice. Dan "The Man" Schuler,  Bill "The Thrill" Tammaro, and Chuck "The Fuck" Doherty all looked superb during the practice. "It was damn cold out there today. It had to have been in the high 30's, yet it didn't matter to me. I felt good and can't wait till the season begins" said Schuler after practice to the media.

Most of the media attention however was focused on Dog Pound newcomer, Ian "On Base" Race. Although he played in one game last season for the Dog Pound, Ian Race was a huge off-season acquisition. "I'm hoping to perform strong in my rookie season, I intend to leave it all on the field at the end of the season" said Ian Race to an onslaught of reporters in the Nokia parking lot. Ian was solid out there both with the bat and the glove. All of Dog Pound nation is excited to welcome him aboard.

The next practice is scheduled Friday the 13th at 5PM at Marvin Field.
