The Dog Pound Signs Three Highly Touted Free Agents
March 25, 2006
BURLINGTON, MA>Head coach Dan Doherty finally came to agreements with Dan Schuler, Mike Bren, and John Breslin. Negotiations lasted through out the night, yet at 8:30 AM ET on March 25th all parties came to an agreement. The failure to resign Derrick Bates, Bill Tammaro, and Billy Norris plus the injury to highly acclaimed A league phenomenon Mark Johnson lead to the free agent signings. "I'm pumped we finally came to an agreement, all three will help the Pound considerably." said Dan Doherty this morning at the press conference.
"Mike Bren should offer some much needed power in the middle of the line-up. I followed him back in Monson and he is quite an acquisition for the Pound" said Peter Gammons on ESPN's Softball Tonight. "Breslin is a veteran who should bring some leadership and experience to an otherwise young and untested team" said Harold Reynolds of ESPN. "Dan Schuler will add a much needed solid glove in the infield, plus a strong bat" said Jim Rice.
Dog Pound nation welcomes all three aboard.
