Lights Out - Dog Pound Players Are Left In The Dark

BURLINGTON, MA - With one day remaining before the Dog Pound’s opener many players do not know their role. Coach Brez has maintained a tight lip letting nothing leak out regarding the batting order or positional line-up. There isn’t a player that knows their role, “am I playing second base or left field”, said 2005 CO-MVP Dan “Gump” Doherty. Doherty reacting after playing the majority of camp at second base since neither of the original projected second baseman were able to make spring training practices due to undisclosed injuries. Some say the coaches’ silent treatment is because of the Dog Pound’s opening opponent, the Black Sox, a club that has been known to search the clubs official site prior to games to get inside information. During a playoff game last season Matt Gillis was surprised to hear a member of the opposing team holler, “batting champ, batting champ” during the playoff series with the Sox. Many still can’t believe that Gillis was at the game in the first place, skipping repeated romantic walks with his “wifey” to make all three playoff games.

Others are saying this is the way the new coach will handle things, silent, but is it helpful to Dog Pound players? Sure – Dog Pound superstars will sleep easily knowing that they will be in the top 4 spots of the line-up and play their positions throughout the 7 inning games. However, the team has many new players, players making position changes, and up and coming talent that remain in the dark about their role on the club. What will happen and who will play where? You’ll have to find out when the players do at 6:25pm on Tuesday night. Please, someone shed some light!
