Season # 3 Opener Set For Tuesday May 1, 2007
April 30, 2007
BURLINGTON,
MA - Season # 3 will get underway at 6:30 PM on May 1, 2007. Most players and
fans are overly excited for the opener. "With all the off-season drama, I'm
ready to play some ball" said Chris Doherty to a bartender at the "Blue Oyster".
Will all the off season drama affect the performance of the Dog Pound? This is
the question all over WEEI this weekend (even bigger topic than Red Sox vs.
Yankees and Randy Moss).
The 2007 season opener will display 8 franchise players who have played for the Pound since 2005, 3 players with one full season under their belt, and one rookie, Ian Race. "I'm just gonna go out there and learn from the veterans on the team. If things go right, I may even win the Rookie of the Year Award" said Ian Race to the media.
The 2007 season begins with its third head coach in 3 seasons, its third new uniform in three season, yet its same constant ace behind the mound. "It's great to be named the opening day pitcher for my third straight season. It's an honor that will never get old. I've been working on some new pitches in the off-season to include a knuckler and my gyro pitch" said Dog Pound Ace Bryan Riley.
Rumor has it that former Dog Pound player and combat veteran Derrick Bates may throw out the first pitch. Other possibilities include Billy Norris and Dave "Froggie" Yee. Tickets are still available yet going fast.
"Let's kick some Ass, Dog Pound!!!" said Luke Lemelin to members of the media on planet Neptune. Luke is expected to return from his vacation to Neptune in time for the season opener. Paparazzi believe that he doesn't get any cell phone reception from the planet and this is why he hasn't been heard from in a few weeks.
