"My name is Luke, Luke Lemelin. I
just got awarded the team MVP for the 2006 season. I wasn't ready for it, I
haven't won a championship yet. So I made a deal with myself. This the year
we make our mark . . . . . " says Luke Lemelin to a crowd of reporters
gathered to see his off season work outs.
"How does it feel to win the MVP ??"
Peter Gammons asked
"I could give a care about the MVP
status, I just want to win the last game of the season and drink some
champagne for once in my life. Its not going to be easy, but I think I can
lead this team to graceland. We need a leader, and I think I got what it
takes to build a championship. That is my # 1 goal next year if I were to
become coach. If that means I bat last in the line up and play catcher next
year, then I will even ride the fricken pine. I just don't want to drink
Miller Lite after our last game." says Luke
